I am a web professional from Northern Virginia with 10 years experience working on a variety of government contracts including the Department of Education, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Transportation, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Food and Drug Administration, Department of Health and Human Services and many others.

My experience includes web design, XHTML & CSS development, website maintenance, content management, web project management, Section 508 accessibility, quality control, GUI design, web architecture and some ASP.Net and SQL Server development with Visual Studio.

I am currently undergoing a large upgrade in my skillset with an intensive study jQuery/JavaScript and of ASP.NET 4.0. I am also starting to implement HTML5 into some projects where approriate. Along with learning jQuery to a professional level I am training to become a Microsoft Certified .NET developer within the year. My study of jQuery, JavaScript, and ASP.NET 4 includes working through multiple books on each topic, incorporating elements into my current projects, as well as online video training through lynda.com.

I also enjoy DSLR filmmaking and photography both as a hobby and as a freelancer. I feel that both of these diciplines are a good compliment to my web design skills, composition is the strongest common requirement.

I am currently working on a nature documentary film called Shenandoah using a Canon 7D and Panasonic GH1 and it will be filmed for 3 months ending in April. I have experience using Adobe Premier and Sony Vegas for video production and many cameras including the Panasonic HMC 40/HMC 150 professional HD camcorders and the Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 7D, and Panasonic GH1/GH2 DSLRs.
